ARC Internal Guidelines
Grant Application Management System (GAMS)

All ARC applications are submitted electronically via GAMS, and in hard format. Information on GAMS is available at: http://www.arc.gov.au/applicants/gams/gams_default.htm

GAMS IDs

All Chief Investigators, Partner Investigators, Overseas Investigators, and Fellows named in an ARC application require a GAMS ID. The ID is unique to the person, and not to the application. GAMS IDs can be obtained by emailing a request to the Manager, Grants and Information. The email must include the full name, title and institutional contact details (including email address), as well as the date of birth, of the person the ID is required for.

Budgets

Please refer to the ORI Budgets page.

The Salary costs of the ECU CIs need to be inputted into the University column under Direct Costs – Personnel.

Applicants should note that the full indirect costs – the ECU contribution to the project – must be shown in the ARC application. This should be shown in the “University" column, and under the “Indirect Costs" heading of Section C of the application. Instructions on calculating the indirect costs can be found under the “In-kind Contribution" sub-heading of the ORI Budgets page.

Intellectual Property and Commercialisation of Research

Applicants are required to summarise the general arrangements the Administering Organisation has in place to manage intellectual property and commericalisation of research (Section A of the application). The following text should be used:

"Edith Cowan University has a comprehensive set of policies covering Intellectual Property management and Commercialisation. These policies can be found at www.ecu.edu.au/research/resmain.html. The Office of Research and Innovation manages these issues on a day-to-day basis and is committed to maximising the commercial benefits of all ECU based research."
