In addition to the internal ECU funding schemes, there are a vast number of external schemes that fund grants, fellowships and other types of awards. Most of these can be found on the COS Funding Opportunities database. ECU researchers are encouraged to make full use of this database, including the funding alerts. Allan Pereira, from the Office of Research & Innovation should be contacted for assistance with COS. In addition to COS, information on funding opportunities can be found on the websites of funding agencies, as well as by subscribing to various mailing lists, including the ORI Notices.
The Australian Competitive Grants Register lists many of the major Australian government and non-government schemes. These schemes attract a greater DEST block grant return than schemes not on the Register.
