All applications for external research [Definition of Research] funds must be submitted via the
Office of Research and Innovation, at least seven working days prior to the external closing date. The following should be internally submitted:
- Original of the application
- Any additional copies required by the funding agency
- An additional copy for ORI
- Research Grant Application Cover Sheet
- Where required by the funding agency: electronic copy (email to the Manager, Grants & Innovation)
ORI will review the application, to ensure compliance with the funding rules and instructions, as well as the budget and content of the application where possible, and will provide feedback to the applicant. Note that for applications that are not internally submitted on time, this will only occur if time permits. Once any revisions have been made, ORI will obtain any necessary institutional signoffs, and submit the application to the funding agency. Note that while the researcher is responsible for obtaining any required signatures from the head of school or faculty dean, only the Director of Research and Innovation is authorised to sign applications on behalf of the University.
